Ladies: You Are Not Who You Think You Are
Tarah Avery
Do you ever feel like you have big dreams but don’t ever think they could actually become reality? Or that you could actually become the women that you see who inspire you and of whom you admire?
It could be you.
Awhile back God took me through a rough journey. A journey to find myself, discover who I was and more importantly, who I COULD be, in him.
I wrote this during those times, and I hope that this truth touches you in some way:
I want to be a woman who honors a man enough not to look at him and begin living in a false reality. Without expectations.
I want to live in this reality, the reality of today, the now…not tomorrow, not a couple months from now, and not years down the road.
I want to be the woman God created me to be and not let the influences and approval of a man dictate that– not my dreams, my values, my personality or the way I look.
I am who I am because of the love and faithfulness of Jesus.
I want to be a woman who honors and loves all of His creation, including myself.
I do not want to be a woman who manipulates, uses, glorifies, fantasizes, dreams, envies, or patronizes others, guys or girls alike.
God created me to love people, regardless of who they are, what they look like, where they come from, or what they think of me.
I love them because that is my calling. That is my reality.
That is my dream and my song that I sing out daily, stomping down every bit of darkness that tells me otherwise!
I’m not perfect.
I fail, I mess up, I am broken.
But God uses that to create a better woman in me.
He longs to pour more of His love into me so that when I fall again..I can rely on him to pick me back up, brush me off, kiss my owies, and send me off to love again.
I want to be a woman who allows his love to flow through me.
He trusts me when I don’t trust myself and uplifts me when I blame him for all my mistakes.
I crave, I desire, and I am created to receive his love.
I am that Woman.
I AM HIS.
And the cool thing is ladies, so are you 🙂
Here’s your “worthy” challenge (Because you are worthy): Write out the woman that you desire to be. No, this is not the time to beat yourself up or become all “negative Nancy” on yourself. Who do you truly want to be? Who inspires you? What do you want people to think of when they look at you?
You can be her.
Write some words that inspire, encourage, and give you hope for tomorrow.
All my Love,
